Why are Democrats allowing Rep. Keith Ellison, now a Minnesota attorney general candidate, to slide under domestic abuse allegations while former Sen. Al Franken was forced out of office for a lot less?
Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY), who was instrumental in Franken being forced out, has been mum on the allegations leveled against Ellison by his former girlfriend Karen Monahan, who accused him of emotional and physical abuse.
Monahan claims that the Democratic Party has “smeared, threatened, isolated” her after she went public with her allegations against him.
“I provided medical records from 2017, stating on two different [doctor] visits, I told them about the abuse and who did it. My therapist released records stating I have been dealing and healing from the abuse.”
No, they don't. I've been smeared, threatened, isolated from my own party. I provided medical records from 2017, stating on two different Dr. Visits, I told them about the abuse and who did it. My therapist released records stating I have been dealing and healing from the abuse

This comes as a growing number of Democrats are backing Dr. Christine Blasey Ford, who accused Trump Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh of sexual assault 36 years ago when she was 15 and he was 17.
Monahan says Ellison dragged her from the bed once, and she recorded the encounter on tape, but she refuses to show contents of the tape to anyone, saying her word should be enough. Well, that may not be enough. Unfortunately, we live in a world where people do lie about sexual assault and sexual abuse. If she has proof of the attack, she should be forthright with that information.
