Donald Trump screams fake news after he was completely shamed during his visit to Pittsburgh where hundreds, if not thousands, turned out to protest his divisive rhetoric and no top officials met him at the airport. Plus 70,000 signed a petition for Trump to stay away from their city. In other words, his photo op backfired royally.
Trump tweeted: “Melania and I were treated very nicely yesterday in Pittsburgh. The Office of the President was shown great respect on a very sad & solemn day. We were treated so warmly. Small protest was not seen by us, staged far away. The Fake News stories were just the opposite-Disgraceful!”

You know what’s disgraceful? A small, small man trying to portray himself as the victim after 11 people were murdered at the Tree of Life Synagogue by a raging lunatic incited by the conspiracy theories Trump and his followers are spreading. And to think, after being asked to stay away to allow the funerals to proceed, Trump still showed up. He was rightfully publicly shamed.
Republican and Democratic House and Senate leaders also turned down his invitation to visit Pittsburgh with him. According to Rachel Maddow, it leaked that Trump’s people were lying to local elected officials to save face by telling them other officials were going to attend while he visited.
Reaction on Twitter:
Um, 70,000 people signed a petition saying they did not want you there. Many Thousands marched in protest. You disregarded survivor’s wishes by coming yesterday because of your ego rally schedule. Now you make it all about you..again.

We saw the protests grandpa. You’re not fooling anyone here. The people of Pittsburgh asked you to please not come out of respect for the dead, but you did it anyways.
It’s always about YOU, isn’t it? pic.twitter.com/z9dYts5vOL

A photo opportunity that backfired on him.

It WASN’T a ‘small protest’. Your motorcade had to go a different route because of the size of the crowd. Oh, & not 1 of our elected officials were there to greet u. #trumpliesmatter #PittsburghUnited https://t.co/GGA1xH7YfT

If there ever was an illegal alien in America, it would have to be you! I respect every human, but I cannot force myself to have any respect for you…, and that is really SAD.

😂😂😂 Even Fox just threw you under the bus on this one! pic.twitter.com/eMSnJrf4iB

So after this very solemn mourning, the tweet of POTUS begins with “Melania and I”, to be followed by “were treated very nicely …”
This is why relatives and people of Pittsburgh did not want Trump. And lawmakers in Congress rejected the invitation to go with Trump.

The “Let’s Lie Express” is in full motion this morning!!
1. NOBODY came with you or greeted you. No senators, no local politicians, NO ONE.
2. The protesters was several thousand strong. Hello, we saw them!
3. They begged you not to come yesterday. You ignored the request.
