Attorney General Jeff Sessions resigns (fired) one day after Donald Trump loses the majority to the House of Representatives in the midterm elections. Sessions issued a statement saying that he was asked to resign. Um, in other words, he was fired.

Sessions will be replaced by Matthew G. Whitaker, as acting AG. He is staunchly against special counsel Robert Mueller according to some of his writings.

Top Democrat Jerry Nadler, who will head the House Judiciary Committee when the Democrats take over, tweeted, “Americans must have answers immediately as to the reasoning behind @RealDonaldTrump removing Jeff Sessions from @TheJusticeDept. Why is the President making this change and who has authority over Special Counsel Mueller’s investigation?

Trump didn’t even have the guts to call Sessions to let him know he was being fired. He had Chief of Staff John Kelly do his dirty work for him.
