Former President Barack Obama triggers the GOP by reminding them that they “racked up enough indictments to field a football team” and brags that no-one in his administration was indicted. Ouch.
“They promised they were going to take on corruption in Washington, instead, they’ve racked up enough indictments to field a football team,” Obama said during campaign events for Indiana’s Sen. Joe Donnelly and Florida gubernatorial candidate Andrew Gillum.
“Nobody in my administration got indicted. Which, by the way, is not that high a bar,” Obama added.
Special Counsel Robert Mueller has indicted or got guilty pleas from 32 people, including Donald Trump’s former campaign aides Paul Manafort, Michael Flynn, George Papadopoulos and Rick Gates.
Early Trump supporter Rep. Chris Collins (R-NY) was indicted on insider trading charges and is still running for reelection. Collins son was also indicted. Rep. Duncan Hunter (R-CA) and his wife were indicted on campaign finance violations. He is also still running.
