Twitter brutally mocks Donald Trump after he claims Michael Cohen sentencing documents, as well as Paul Manafort’s memo “totally clears” him. Um, no. He’s named as individual-1 and was accused by the SDNY of committing felonies.

Trump tweeted: “Totally clears the President. Thank you!”

The sentencing documents from the Southern District of New York clearly state that Michael Cohen acted on Donald Trump’s instructions to violate campaign finance laws to influence the outcome of the 2016 presidential election. That was done by paying hush money to Stormy Daniels and Karen McDougal to cover up his affairs.

Here’s the key section of the SDNY sentencing document that states Donald Trump broke the law:

“During the campaign, Cohen played a central role in two similar schemes to purchase the rights to stories – each from women who claimed to have had an affair with Individual-1 – so as to suppress the stories and thereby prevent them from influencing the election.”

“With respect to both payments, Cohen acted with the intent to influence the 2016 presidential election. Cohen coordinated his actions with one or more members of the campaign, including through meetings and phone calls, about the fact, nature, and timing of the payments. In particular, and as Cohen himself has now admitted, with respect to both payments, he acted in coordination with and at the direction of Individual-1.”

Mueller’s document also states that Cohen acted on Trump’s behalf with his full knowledge. The document states that is “discrete” information about interactions between the Trump campaign and the Russians.
