Donald Trump, who demands funding for made-up border crisis, has ordered FEMA to cut off funding for California’s wildfires — a real crisis. He shut down the government over funding for a border fence.

Trump tweeted:  “Billions of dollars are sent to the State of California for Forest fires that, with proper Forest Management, would never happen. Unless they get their act together, which is unlikely, I have ordered FEMA to send no more money. It is a disgraceful situation in lives & money!”

I wonder if he realizes that cutting off funding to California will also impact some of his supporters? I guess he still wants them to rake the forest floors. I am pretty sure he can’t unilaterally just cut the funds off, but we’ll see how this shakes out. He only looks out for the states he won the 2016 presidential election.

It’s infuriating because Donald Trump is acting as though the government is a part of Trump Organization and he gets to call the shots as he pleases. I know the framers of the Constitution gave him wide powers, but what he is doing is akin to the behavior of a dictator.
