Sen. Cory Booker says running Newark separates him from Sens. Kamala Harris and Elizabeth Warren. Never mind the fact that Harris previously served as California’s attorney general for eight years.

During a campaign event in Marshalltown, Iowa, on Saturday, Booker was asked what separates him from Harris and Warren. He responded that he has “run something.”

Booker served as Newark’s mayor from 2006 to 2013 before he was elected to the U.S. Senate. He said that running Newark during the financial crisis will help him as president.

Harris could also say that being attorney general for such a huge state will help her as president as well. Warren is a former law professor and played an instrumental role in the formation of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau after she became a senator.

Hillary Clinton tried to belittle Barack Obama’s accomplishments when they faced off in the 2008 election. It backfired on her royally.
