Rep. Adam Schiff demolishes GOP Rep. Mike Conaway’s (TX) call for his resignation as the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee: “What the Trump campaign did was immoral, unethical and corrupt.”

Conaway said, “Your actions, both past, and present are incompatible with your duty of the chairman of this committee — which alone, in the House of Representatives — has the obligation and authority to provide effective oversight of the U.S. Intelligence community.”

“As such we have no faith in your ability to discharge your duties in a manner consistent with your Constitutional responsibility and urge your immediate resignation as chairman of the committee,” Conaway continued. He added that the nine Republicans on the committee had signed the letter.

“I don’t think it’s OK. I think It’s immoral, I think it’s unethical, I think it’s unpatriotic, and yes, I think it’s corrupt, and evidence of collusion,” Schiff fired back.

These are the same Republicans who were silent when Devin Nunes ran interference for Donald Trump and deliberately stymied the Russia probe when he was the committee chairman.

The latest move from Republicans come as Trump melted down on Twitter calling for Schiff’s resignation from Congress because he lied (he has told over 9,000 lies and counting). Trump’s tweet came after Schiff said his committee was willing to subpoena Robert Mueller to testify.

The Republicans are trying to move ahead as though they read the Mueller report. There may not have been conspiracy but there was definitely corruption and yes, possible collusion. If Mueller had truly vindicated Trump, Attorney General William Barr would have released the full memo immediately. In other words, the report is most likely damaging to Trump.
