Arkansas state Sen. Stephanie Flowers shuts down a white lawmaker trying to silence her during a discussion ahead of a vote on a Stand Your Ground bill. She told the lawmaker, “what the hell are you going to do? Shoot me?”
Flowers said, “For a long time since I’ve been back in Arkansas, I have feared for my son’s life. He’s 27 now and I’m glad he’s out of Arkansas.” “I worry about my son and I worry about little black boys and girls.”
Flowers is trending on Twitter after the video of her making an impassioned plea against Stand Your Ground laws. The bill failed in committee 4-3.
