Former vice president Joe Biden says he did not intentionally act “inappropriately” towards Lucy Flores, who is currently a board member of Bernie Sanders’ Our Revolution political organization.

“I may not recall these moments the same way, and I may be surprised at what I hear. But we have arrived at an important time when women feel they can and should relate their experiences, and men should pay attention. And I will,” The Hill reports.

Flores is accusing Biden of kissing her on the back of her head, smelling her hair and touching her shoulders without her consent in an op-ed in The Cut on Friday.

Flores is still on the board of directors of Sanders’ Our Revolution, so the timing of this attack against Biden is curious, since he may be about to launch his 2020 presidential campaign and would be a threat to Sanders.

It burns me up to no end when people like Elizabeth Warren and Julian Castro are rushing to give statements blindly believing the accuser simply on her word. Warren, who had to apologize for trying to pass herself off as a Native American on her bar registration ID card.

Ms. Flores claims the incident occurred when Biden was campaigning on her behalf in the Nevada lieutenant governor’s race in 2014. She didn’t bother going forward with her accusations when Biden would out there campaigning for Hillary Clinton.
