Twitter widely pans Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand kick-off speech at her campaign launch rally outside Trump International Hotel & Tower by attacking Donald Trump repeatedly: “Naked political ambition, little substance, obvious flip flopping and no lane to occupy… waste of time,” one user tweeted.

Gillibrand, who is pinning her hopes on women voters, railed against Trump:  “Look up at that tower. A shrine to greed, division and vanity. Now, look around you — the greater strength by far is ours. We are here to reject the politics of fear and hate.”

I don’t want to ever defend Donald Trump on anything, but slamming his building as a “shrine” to division and greed is wrong. There are decent people who live in his buildings, plus retailers who rent space from him. They hire a lot of people. He exploited tax loopholes and gamed the system. Don’t attack him over his buildings. That’s short-sighted and just plain dumb.

“President Trump is tearing apart the moral fabric of this country … Our President is a coward,” Gillibrand said. “The Mueller report must be made public. All of it,” she said. “It is not often that I agree with Richard Nixon, but he was right to say that the American people have a right to know whether their president is a crook.”

Gillibrand, who has consistently had poor showings in just about every poll, has irked many people because she led the charge on forcing then-senator Al Franken to resign and attacked Bill Clinton when she felt she no longer needed he and his wife’s help. In other words, she’s a user.
