Sens. Kamala Harris and Elizabeth Warren surge in post-debate polls, while frontrunner Joe Biden and Bernie Sanders see their numbers fall.

A new CNN poll conducted after the first Democratic debate finds Biden’s tumbling 10 points to 22%, while Harris surges to 17% and Warren at 15% while Sanders falls to 14%. The other candidates in the race did not hit 5%.

Harris’ support among black voters and white liberal voters is also rising. Both groups were instrumental in President Barack Obama’s wins.

Harris won the second Democratic debate after she hammered Biden over his comments about working with segregationists. It’s still incredulous to me that Biden did not have a response to Harris knowing that it would have come up during the debate.

Harris’ surge comes as Donald Trump Jr. and his cronies went birther, joined by a small group of black Americans questioning her “blackness.”
