Twitter hammers former John McCain campaign aide Steve Schmidt after Howard Schultz drops his ill-advised independent presidential bid. Yeah, he realized that mucking up the election to help Donald Trump win would reduce him to worst than a pariah.
Schultz said he found it hard to reach moderate voters and didn’t want to risk rre-electing Trump. I hope Tom Steyer gets the message and drops out too.
NEW: Former Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz abandoned his pursuit for president, telling his supporters in a letter that he found it tougher than he expected to capture the attention of moderate voters and that he didn’t want to risk reelecting Pres. Trump. https://t.co/r4TOOxg7Mv

But it is Schmidt, who was instrumental in John McCain picking half-term Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin as his running mate, who is getting mercilessly hammered in Twitter for working with Schultz on his presidential bid to nowhere.
Reaction on Twitter:
Steve Schmidt is best known for pushing John McCain to select Sarah Palin as his running mate. Morons always know the best morons. They run in the same moronic circle. pic.twitter.com/bYHnuO2aSR

Is Steve Schmidt waiting for Joe Walsh’s Phone call today?

What is so great about Steve Schmidt? He ran an absolutely horrible campaign in 2008 against Obama & the campaign he ran for Schultz went absolutely nowhere. Steve Schmidt is a joke. #Tcot

Now we need to shame Steve Schmidt loudly and eternally for bringing us both Palin *and* Schultz. He did it to us twice and I am not in a forgiving mood.

Has anyone looked under the floorboards for Steve Schmidt? I really liked that guy. But first Palin now Schultz. I dunno buddy. Maybe take a vacation buddy.

Exactly. Dear.@NicolleDWallace as much as I love you and your show, if Steve Schmidt is on, I’ll switch to CNN. As far as I am concerned, he tried to get Trump reelected.

If I'm @MSNBC I don't let Steve Schmidt back on the air.

Lol it feels like a million years ago when Steve Schmidt was trying to convince us that Schultz running as a 3rd party candidate was THE ONLY THING that could save Democrats from Trump. 🙄 (Seriously, can you believe that was just this past February??) https://t.co/L5DKhiVovS
