A burglar was shot and killed by a shopper in a taqueria in southwest Houston, police said.

Police said surveillance video showed the shooting had stopped. It depicts clients, witnesses and the shooter leaving the scene immediately after the shooting.

HOUSTON is a client of Ranchito Taqueria shot a man who robbed a restaurant in southwest Houston late Thursday night, according to Houston Police Department.

The incident was caught on surveillance video.

The restaurant workers were shocked by what had happened. The restaurant said they would open around 7am.

It happened shortly before 11:30 pm in a restaurant on S. Gessner near Bellaire Boulevard.

Houston police said an armed man wearing a mask entered the restaurant and demanded money and wallets from customers. However, as he was leaving, one of those clients shot the suspect.

None of the other people in the restaurant were hurt during the incident.

Investigators said the suspect did not have a real weapon.

“The robbery suspect came into the store wearing a mask and gloves,” Police Lieutenant Wilkens said. “He had a plastic gun, maybe an airsoft gun, or maybe a small BB gun.”

The Houston police said they wanted to talk to all of them.
