A large fire destroyed a home on the southeast side, with at least one person forced to flee their homes, according to SAFD.

SAN ANTONIO According to the San Antonio Fire Department, a home on the southeast side was leveled and destroyed in a massive fire Wednesday afternoon, forcing at least one person from their homes.

The fire broke out around 4:15 p.m. Wednesday in the 1200 block of Denver Boulevard, near South Mittiman and South Walters Streets.

The fire brigades had to defend themselves from the fire, but the fire caused the house to collapse. No one was inside at the time, according to SAFD.

No residents of the area were injured. However, one firefighter suffered an ankle injury.

None of the nearby houses were injured, and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
