A man is accused of repeatedly sexually assaulting a girl in McLennan, Falls counties.

Waco, TexasKWTX)- Police said Jose Hernandez, 31, is being held in the McLennan County Jail after he was repeatedly accused of sexually assaulting a girl in two central Texas counties.

Waco Police Department spokeswoman Sierra Shipley confirmed to KWTX that an outside agency was sent to Waco Police in November 2021.

Detectives received information that a girl under the age of 12 was repeatedly sexually assaulted between 2018 and 2020 at the Waco residence, Shipeli said.

Detectives continued their investigation and learned that the suspect had also raped the victim at a home in Lotte, Texas, Shipley said.

According to a police spokesman, the victim and the suspect knew each other.

Hernandez is charged with five counts of indecent behavior towards a child and his bail is $1 million.

However, online prison records show that Hernandez is being held in immigration detention, meaning he will be turned over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement if he can post bail.
