SAN ANTONIO – According to the San Antonio police, a woman was arrested for stabbing a man in the head and neck during an argument.
Loretta Oppelt, 33, was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, Bexar County Jail reports.
The arrest warrant statement said Oppelt and the 51-year-old male victim argued on Monday over an incident involving her sister. According to police, the suspect and the victim have known each other for about four years.
At some point during the argument, Oppelt pulled out a knife and attacked him, the affidavit says.
The man was stabbed four times in the back of the head and neck area.
He was taken to the university hospital in a stable condition, and the suspect fled the scene.
Police later contacted the suspect, who said she used a knife to attack him “because she was upset,” the affidavit said.
Oppelt said she returned the knife to the person who gave it to her to borrow.
She was taken into custody on Tuesday. Her bail is set at $100,000.
