Tax-Aide is now scheduling appointments for free 2022 tax return preparation and electronic filing.
The AARP Foundation’s Tax-Aide Volunteers will provide low- and middle-income taxpayers, with a focus on individuals aged 60 and over, with assistance in filing personal income taxes.
Last year, more than 500 local residents turned in their taxes through this service. In addition, more than 100 received answers to other tax questions.
Trained volunteers will be available at the Walworth Harrison Public Library in Greenville Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.
People must arrive before 2:00 pm to have time. The service will begin on February 6 and run until Wednesday, April 12.
Individuals must bring photo identification for taxpayers and spouses and Social Security cards for taxpayers and any dependents; tax return for the previous (2021) year, as well as all income and expense documents related to the 2022 tax year, such as a social security report, SSI reports, wages, pensions, interest, dividends, broker reports, health insurance, bills for paid property tax, etc.
All services are by appointment only. Appointments can be made in person at the library or online at www.aarpfoundation.org.
