This week, Amazon announced a new Prime member benefit in partnership with existing Amazon Pharmacy services. The new service, RxPass, allows Prime members to pay a flat fee of $5 per month in exchange for a wide range of generic drugs, including general anxiety, high cholesterol and anti-seizure medications.

RxPass is now available to Amazon Prime members, though if you live in a state where drug delivery isn’t possible, you probably aren’t eligible for the service.

What is Amazon RxPass?
Amazon RxPass is Amazon Prime’s new all-in-one prescription delivery service. For a flat $5 fee, Prime subscribers can access over 50 prescription drugs without having to rely on insurance to get low cost.
How does Amazon RxPass work?
RxPass costs $5 for Prime members and includes free shipping, automatic top-up with status updates, and virtual access to pharmacists. A full list of generic drugs on offer is available on the Amazon RxPass landing page. For a fixed monthly fee, you will be able to order refills and schedule the delivery of your medications.
When you sign up for RxPass, you will need to get your prescription through the Amazon Pharmacy service or transfer your existing prescription to Rx People who use Medicare or Medicaid are not currently eligible for Amazon RxPass.
The service follows the addition of Amazon’s Amazon Pharmacy service in 2020 and the acquisition of One Medical in 2021, prompting the FTC to investigate earlier this year.

How can you sign up for Amazon Prime?
You can subscribe to Amazon Prime through the Amazon website. You’ll pay $14.99 a month or $139 a year for a membership that gives you access to Prime benefits like Prime Video, Amazon’s streaming service, as well as Amazon Music, Kindle services, and more.
Amazon Prime members get free shipping on eligible Prime items, 2-day and same-day shipping on select products, Prime-only deals, and more. When you sign up, you’ll have access to a 30-day trial, and students can sign up for Amazon Prime for 50% off the regular price and a 6-month trial.
