Arrested in connection with College Station shooting that left teenager hospitalized with leg injury

COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) — College Station police have made an arrest in connection with a shooting that wounded a teenager at the College Station apartment complex.

J’lynn McClendon, 18, is in the Brazos County Jail on multiple charges, including two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and murderous conduct.

According to court documents, McClendon hit the 13-year-old in the leg when he fired eight shots at him in the Pearl Apartments around 6:30 p.m. last Thursday.

The boy told College Station police that he and some family members got into an altercation with a group that included McClendon because they thought he and his family had something to do with Anthony Ayers’ death.

Ayers, 15, was found shot to death in the parking lot of the same apartment complex last October.

The teenager, who was shot dead last week, was taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital after a tourniquet was applied by a CSPD officer to stop the bleeding.

McClendon is in jail for bonds totaling $277,000.
