Astros fan accused of throwing cans at Senator Ted Cruz hasn’t received a bill, documents show

According to court documents, Joseph Halm Arquidiacono was accused of throwing two unopened cans of alcohol at Senator Ted Cruz during the Astros championship parade.

HOUSTON. The grand jury did not indict the man accused of throwing two cans of alcohol at U.S. Senator Ted Cruz, according to the documents.

In November, during the Houston Astros World Series parade, court documents said 33-year-old Joseph Halm Arquidiacono threw two unopened 12-ounce cans of “liquor” at Cruz during the parade.

He was charged with aggravated assault and bail was set at $40,000. On Friday, a grand jury declined to indict him.

Video of the incident went viral on social media, showing Cruz and a man next to him attempting to block the can. The man next to Cruz then pointed to someone in the crowd and spoke into the walkie-talkie.

According to police, one of the cans hit Cruz in the chest and neck. He didn’t need medical attention.

Cruz later tweeted.saying that he was grateful for the quick action taken by the police and also said that he was grateful to Arsidiakono for “hand noodles.”

The city hosted a parade in honor of the 2022 Astros World Series championship.
