Austin is giving away free winter weather supplies

Austin (KXAN) – The last time the city of Austin gave out winter weather tools, supplies ran out in just half an hour. So the city plans to do it again.

If a homeowner has a burst pipe, it is important to stop the flow of water by turning off the main water supply.

If you cannot access your property’s valves, you will have to open the nearest city water meter. To do this, you will need a water meter key. This is among the materials the city will distribute.

The following items will also be available to residents (while stocks last):

Gear will be available on select days this week. Here’s when and where you can pick them up.

Since the last few such events have been very popular, people are asked to arrive early. And the city also emphasized that they would issue only one meter key per person.
