Damar Hamlin’s family expressed their gratitude for the support shown for the safety of the Buffalo Bills and asked everyone to pray for the hospitalized player on Tuesday.
“We are deeply moved by the prayers, kind words and donations from fans across the country,” Hamlin’s family wrote in Posted on twitter account player marketing representative Jordon Rooney. “Your generosity and compassion meant the world to us.”
The family also paid tribute to first responders, UC Medical Center medical staff, Bills and Cincinnati Bengals for their support.
Hamlin, 24, remained in critical condition a day after the Bills said his heart stopped during a tackle in the first quarter against the Bengals. Medical staff restored his heartbeat during frantic moments on the pitch before he was loaded into an ambulance, and both teams’ players and coaches tearfully concealed their shock and emotion.
