BRTC Foundation Board Names Two New Members | ads

 

POCAONTAS. The Black River Technical College Foundation announced that Arkansas District Judge Alex Bigger and Lawrence Healthcare President Josh Conley have joined the Foundation’s board.

Bigger, 36, was born in Pocahontas and graduated from Pocahontas High School in 2004, then earned a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from the University of Arkansas in 2008 and an MBA in 2009. He then entered the Mississippi College School of Law from which he graduated. cum laude with a Doctor of Law degree in 2012.

Bigger is a member of the Pocahontas Rotary Club and chairman of the Five Rivers Athletic Complex. “BRTC is a fundamental pillar of our local community,” Bigger said. “I hope to open up new perspectives and make fundraising aspects and activities a central and interesting part of the Foundation’s board.”

Conley, 34, graduated from St. Frederick Catholic High School in Monroe, Louisiana, before earning a Bachelor of Science in Biology and an MBA from Millsaps College. He also received a master’s degree in health care administration from the University of Arkansas Health Sciences and is certified by the National Rural Health Association as CEO of a rural hospital.

As President of Lawrence Healthcare, Conley is responsible for both Lawrence Memorial Hospital and Lawrence Hall Health and Rehabilitation. He is a member of the Northeast Arkansas Regional Intermodal Transportation Authority and the Arkansas State Hospital Self-Insurance Board. He also served as Chairman of the Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce in 2021.

“I decided to join the board after I learned how he helps those in need with scholarships and other support,” Conley said. “I look forward to bringing the public to the forefront of the great things the board is doing in the community and also finding ways to expand our presence in Lawrence County.”
