Cirque Italia’s Big Show Heads To Tyler

An exciting show awaits Tyler.

Cirque Italia, a unique circus experience with performances such as trapeze artists, acrobats, jugglers, acrobats and more, will hold its opening on January 19th.

The event will take place at the Broadway Square Mall under the Grand Dome and will feature multiple performances through January 22nd.

Cirque Italia manager and artist Morgaine Rosenthal said the show offers a unique experience for the whole family.

“We are the first traveling water circus in the US. We have an environmentally friendly, dynamic water scene that is unlike anything you’ve ever seen before,” she said. “It’s a beautiful combination of death-defying circus acts with the atmosphere of our water stage, rain and fountains creating magic inside our tent.”

“And this year we have a brand new element of the show that includes lasers, sound and state-of-the-art 3D imaging to create an immersive experience in the world of Cirque Italia,” added Rosenthal.

The Circus of Italy performed in Tyler in 2015 and Rosenthal said she was thrilled to be back.

“The Cirque Italia silver came to Tyler years ago,” she said. “We’ve had an amazing response from the public and we’re thrilled to bring a brand new experience to the community.”

The story begins with the head of the arena, Rafinha the Clown, fishing when he unexpectedly fishes out a bottle with a treasure map. His subsequent journey takes viewers through high seas storms, dreams of angelic trapeze artists, pirate fights, and more.

Guests will see thugs balancing upside down on a rum barrel, juggling knives and even running into a mermaid.

“Jaws will drop and you will be hanging on the edge of your seats with our disturbing Crossbow number and our dangerous Wheel of Death performance,” said Manuel Rebecchi, president and owner of Cirque Italia.

Rebecca said that Cirque Italia continues to contribute to modernizing the performing arts and the circus industry with a strict no-animal policy.

Rosenthal said that while she doesn’t want to talk too much about the show, she hopes her performances will inspire families to see the “real” treasure in life.

“I don’t want to reveal too much, but I hope, as an artist on the show, that the audience will remember that the real treasure of life comes from within,” she said.

Performances will take place in the parking lot of the Broadway Square Mall, located at 4601 South Broadway, under a large roof tent.

Children receive a free ticket when purchasing an adult ticket for the red and blue sections.

Performance dates and times are as follows:

• January 19 – Thursday: 19:30.

• January 20 – Friday: 19:30.

• January 21 – Saturday: 13:30, 16:30 and 19:30.
