Contractors burned to death during the demolition of the old Parkview Elementary School in Fort Worth.

According to ISD officials and Keller ISD paramedics, four contractors were burned – one of them seriously – while performing demolition work at the old Parkview Elementary School building in Fort Worth.

The incident took place shortly before 10:30 a.m. at the old school building at 6900 Bayberry Drive. A spokesperson for Keller ISD said it took place in an old school building that is separate from the current, busy campus and involved demolition contractors. No Keller ISD staff or students were hurt, according to a spokesperson.

MedStar spokesman Matt Zawadzki said four people were burned; one was taken to Parkland and three were taken to the hospital in a “green” condition, indicating less serious injuries, Zavadsky said.

It was not immediately clear what caused the injury.

The old Parkview building was built in 1980. Fort Worth Report. Keller ISD voters approved a plan to build a new elementary school in 2019; Demolition began on the building in the summer of 2021.
