SAN ANTONIO – A driver was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol after he tried to flee the scene of a rollover accident in the northeast part of the city, San Antonio police said.
The accident happened at 1:28 am Sunday at the 6200 block of Montgomery Drive.
Police said the 20-year-old woman was driving a Honda Accord eastbound in the left lane at Dr. Montgomery’s when the Lincoln driver swerved into the lane.
The woman changed lanes to avoid colliding with Lincoln, but crashed into the car on the driver’s side, causing Lincoln to roll over.
The Lincoln driver got out of the car and tried to flee the scene without providing information or helping the woman.
Upon arrival, law enforcement officers located and detained the driver with signs of intoxication.
The Lincoln driver was examined and found to be drunk. They were arrested for drunk driving and refusal to stop and assist with traffic.
