Elon Musk Corrects Nevada Governor Saying He’s Got ‘Too Much Attention’

While Nevada Governor Joe Lombardo was talking to Gigafactory Nevada employees, Elon Musk decided to correct the official.

Elon Musk shared a number of updates with the Giga Nevada staff at a recent presentation. These include Tesla’s plans to build a Class 8 all-electric semiconductor mass production plant and the company’s 4680 dedicated battery plant. Musk also confirmed that Tesla will eventually use its 4680 cells for its energy storage products.

Following the presentation, Nevada Governor Joe Lombardo took the stage, no less excited about the expansion of the Giga Nevada network. At one point in his speech, Lombardo noted that all he can really do is change people’s lives, as Elon Musk is here to “change the world.”

Musk slightly corrected the policy, clarifying that if there is anyone who deserves credit for Tesla’s success, it is the team that makes up the company. The CEO also noted that he already gets too much attention for Tesla’s milestones.

“Just being clean. I just… I get too much attention. That’s their credit,” Musk said, pointing to the Giga Nevada staff.

The CEO’s rather clumsy reaction to the governor’s announcement drew laughter from the audience, but this isn’t the first time Musk has thanked the Tesla team for the company’s huge success over the years. Contrary to popular belief that Musk likes to take credit for his team, it’s not uncommon for the CEO to post thank-you messages to his employees.

This was especially evident in a message he sent last year to Tesla employees. At the time, Musk noted that his respect for the Tesla team far exceeded his respect for the biggest players on Wall Street. Musk noted that this was because the Tesla team is really building great things.

“We *actually* create great, real products that people love and make their lives and the world a better place. It’s so deep! This is an honest working day that you can feel in your heart. Whatever else is going on in this messed up world, at least know that what you do is pure goodness and that I have infinitely more respect and admiration for you than the richest man on Wall Street.” Mask.
