Former UA high school assistant football coach dies

 

Greg Patrick has been a successful defense coordinator at a number of high schools including Valley Christian, Mountain Pointe, Chaparral, Horizon, and North.

TUCSON, Arizona. Greg Patrick, former Valley high school football assistant coach, has died.

Patrick was on the UA team for two seasons (2019 and 2020) under former head coach Kevin Sumlin. He was hired as a defensive analyst and was briefly promoted to defensive line coach in his 1st season when Jonah Wiagaleley was fired by Sumlin.

Patrick played collegiate football in the Ivy League at Brown, played professionally with the NFL and CFL, and was a successful defensive coordinator at a number of Arizona high schools, including Valley Christian, Mountain Pointe, Cesar Chavez, Chandler, Chaparral, Skyline, and North.

He was part of the coaching staff for Valley Christian High School State Champion and Scottsdale Chaparral.
