Family members set up a GoFundMe page for the three siblings who died in a car crash on the Northeast Side late Sunday, January 8. Family and friends held a vigil at the site where the three died on Monday, January 9th.
Relatives identified the victims as 22-year-old Evelyn Flores Jasso, 17-year-old Ivan Flores Jasso and 10-year-old Julian Flores Jasso. Family members are asking others for prayers and donations for their GoFundMe page to help raise funds for the funeral.
“As our family mourns this tragedy, we ask for prayers and any donations to help arrange the funeral. Thank you and support the family in your prayers,” reads the GoFundMe page. As of Tuesday, January 10, it has reached nearly $20,000.
Three people, including a child, died in an accident on the north side of San Antonio.
Ken BrancaAccording to police, the accident occurred around 10:00 pm at the intersection of Thousand Oaks Drive and Alamo Blanco Street.
Police said a red Nissan Sedan was hit by a silver Jeep Grand Cherokee as it crossed Thousand Oaks Drive. Police said the Nissan made an unsafe left turn towards the Alamo Blanco and failed to yield to the Jeep, resulting in a T-Bone.
The impact caused the Nissan to roll over and crash into a power pole, knocking down a pole and some power lines. San Antonio fire officials tried to rescue three people in the Nissan but were found dead upon arrival, police said.
Officials took two other people in a jeep to the hospital as a precaution. According to police, the driver of the jeep remained at the scene, was not drunk and cooperated with the investigation.
