Good News Friday: January 6, 2023

WACO, TX (KWTX) – Congratulations to the Allison High School basketball team. They won the 65th Whataburger Tournament Orange Division title by defeating Arlington Martin! The guys did not lose the three-day tournament.

Killeen ISD is honoring this month’s STEEL award winners. They want to shout out bilingual teacher Moraima Rosario from Pershing Park Elementary School and computer assistant Robert Magonigal from Clear Creek Elementary School. STEEL is committed to supporting education and empowering students.

This month, the Belton Big Red community is celebrating the county’s board of trustees. Superintendent Matt Smith says these seven people continue to make Belton ISD thrive. They spent over 160 hours at school-related events such as campus visits, graduations, and class sessions.

Say hello to these Belton ISD gamers! Those Lake Belton High students or the Bronco E-sports team are state champions! They defeated other teams in Apex Legends Battle Royale. The game features a roster of 23 characters with unique personalities and abilities.

And finally, we wish a speedy recovery to Pete’s mom. She recently suffered a stroke, and according to her doctors, by the time the doctors arrived to help her, she may have had only an hour left. Luckily, she is fine and recovering. We want to convey our thoughts and prayers to her. Get well soon!
