Has anyone won the $940 million Mega Millions jackpot?

The jackpot has risen after more than two months without a winner and is one of the largest jackpots in US lottery history.

WASHINGTON – Lottery players will once again have a chance to win over $1 billion after no one hit the $940 million Mega Millions jackpot Friday night, the top prize that has grown for more than two months without a winner and now ranks fifth in US history .

On Friday, January 6, numbers 3-20-46-59-63, Mega Ball 13 and Megaplier 3X were drawn.

Nobody hit the jackpot, but five players matched the first five numbers and won $1 million. The next estimated jackpot is $1.1 billion.

Unfortunately, the chances of winning do not increase with the jackpot. The chance of all five numbers matching Megaball is one in 302.6 million. So far there have been 24 draws in a row without a winner.

The full jackpot is only available to the winner who chooses an annuity payout within 29 years. Nearly all winners opt for a one-time cash payout, which would have been $486 million for Friday’s jackpot.

Mega Millions is played in 45 states plus Washington DC and the US Virgin Islands.

The next draw will take place on Tuesday evening. Powerball is offering lottery fans another chance to hit the massive jackpot, which hit $325 million this week. His next draw is on Saturday.
