DALLAS (KDAF) — Whenever you’re about to travel, it’s always nice to dream of going abroad to a country you’ve never seen (not in pictures), but sometimes the best places to stay are right under your nose.
When you think of the best travel destinations in the world, what do you think? Italy, New York, some island with great views and loads of things to do? Well, of course, yes, but Travel + Leisure has published a report on the top 50 places to travel in 2023, so you can easily add more to your list, and one addition calls the Lone Star State home.
“Our list includes several promising culinary destinations, as well as a wonderful work of art, the size and scale of which is amazing. While many of the locations selected by the team are remote places where you can breathe fresh air, our list does not skimp on cities where the hustle and bustle is part of the fun, ”the publication says.
One of the categories the report focused on was the thrill of the big cities, with places like Copenhagen, Madrid, Nashville, Pittsburgh, San Francisco, and Seoul making the list, but so did the bustling city of Houston.
Simply put, there’s no shortage of good food, sports, nightlife, and activities galore to fill out a week or just a weekend trip to one of Texas’ largest cities.
Travel + Leisure writes, “Today, a host of new businesses are poised to lift the profile of Texas’s largest city in other categories as well. The JMK5 Arena, which opens next year, will transform the abandoned racetrack into a 12,500-seat concert stadium that rivals Vegas venues.”
