ISD Marble Falls superintendent named as sole finalist to serve school district near Waco

MARBLE FALLS, TX (KXAN) — Dr. Chris Allen, current Superintendent of the Marble Falls Independent School District, has been named the only finalist to become superintendent of another school district.

Midway ISD, which is located near Waco, has named Allen as its only finalist for the next superintendent, which will likely result in his resignation from Marble Falls ISD, according to a Marble Falls press release.

“It was not an easy decision for me and my family because of the strong relationships I have here,” Allen said. “I will leave my time with MFISD feeling deep gratitude for the honor of serving and considerable confidence that this district’s leadership is in a strong position.”

State law requires a 21-day waiting period between the time the school board names a single finalist and offers the finalist an employment contract. This 21-day waiting period starts today. Allen’s last day at ISD Marble Falls is likely to be January 25, 2023.

The Board of Trustees of ISD Marble Falls said it would soon decide whether to look for a new superintendent or hire an interim superintendent.

Kevin Naumann, President of the Marble Falls ISD Board of Trustees, said he appreciates Allen’s work and wishes him all the best. “In regards to our community, please know that we will provide updates and additional information as needed,” Naumann said.
