Jeremy Sochan’s fight with Markieff Morris angered Tottenham fans

Energy for both teams flared midway through the second quarter after Spurs rookie Jeremy Sochan hit his second 3-pointer. Returning to defense, he held up three fingers and started tweeting, not too politely, in the face of Nets player Markieff Morris. Morris did not much like it when a newcomer spread his attitude, and almost immediately put up an apparently illegal barrier that broke into Sochan.

However, Sochan was ready to take on the challenge and quickly grabbed Morris, taking him to the ground with him.

Zach Collins of the Spurs quickly found himself in the thick of the two before anyone else. “He runs into trouble, he doesn’t run away from a fight,” Sean Elliot said on air.

All this made Spurs fans reel. Comparisons between Dennis Rodman and Sochan have of course become commonplace on social media, but more than that, fans have appreciated Sochan’s attitude and his “ignorant” nature. After the game, when asked if he likes to hurt people, he replied with a smile and a laugh: “You know, a little.”

Morris and his twin brother Marcus are known as the tough guys in the NBA. They catch the eye of the players and have a reputation for participating in such conflicts. But Sochan and Collins didn’t want that. Collins has especially shown that he is never afraid to step in front of anyone, and he certainly has his back for Sochan. Fans liked it, probably more than Sochan’s takedown.
