Killeen police identify armed car theft suspect

KILLIN, TexasKWTX)- The Killeen Police Department identified the aggravated robbery suspect as 23-year-old Jayonn Jordan Moore.

Moore is charged with aggravated robbery and Magistrate Gregory Johnson has set bail at $250,000.

The officers were sent at approximately 8:45 pm on January 9 to block 4600 Frontier Trail in connection with the robbery.

According to the victim, a suspect approached him at gunpoint and demanded his wallet, phone and Honda Civic. Police said the suspect, now identified as Moura, then fled the scene in a Civic.

Later at 9:09 pm, officers found the Honda near the Stan Schlueter Loop and Mesa Drive and tried to stop the traffic, but Moore allegedly refused to stop.

The car sped off westbound on Elms Road with the police in pursuit. Police said Moore attempted to turn south on Trimmer Road when he lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a pole. He was taken into custody without further incident, and no injuries were reported.

According to police, as a result of a blow to a power pole in the area, electricity was cut off.

Moore is currently being held at the Bell County Jail.
