Kyle City Council unanimously approves speed limit reduction on FM 150 and FM 2770.

KYLE, TX (KXAN) — Reduced speed limits for Farm to Market 150 and Farm to Market 2770 have been unanimously approved by the City Council following a Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) study, according to the City of Kyle.

The ordinance, passed in December, will lower the speed limit to 45 mph for both directions on FM 2770 between Bob Shelton Stadium north and FM 150.

Speed limits along FM 150 will also drop to 35 mph between Interstate Northbound Frontage Road and Lehman Road, 45 mph between Lehman Road and Woodlands Drive/Waterleaf Boulevard, and 50 mph between Woodlands Drive/Waterleaf Boulevard and SH 21.

School zones on FM 150 will also have speed limits lowered to 35 mph depending on the city.

The new recommended speed limits follow the results of a TxDOT traffic study showing the new maximum speeds will improve public safety, and the city says new signs for the changes will be in place in mid-January 2023.
