Earlier in the day, the 54-year-old singer and daughter of Elvis Presley was taken to the hospital.
WASHINGTON. Lisa Marie Presley – Elvis Presley’s only child – died Thursday after being hospitalized earlier in the day, her mother said in a statement. The singer was 54 years old.
“It is with a heavy heart that I must share the terrible news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us,” said Priscilla Presley. “She was the most passionate, strong and loving woman I have ever known.”
The announcement comes just hours after Priscilla Presley confirmed that Lisa Marie Presley had been taken to the hospital earlier Thursday.
Priscilla Presley confirmed her daughter’s hospitalization in a social media post.
“My beloved daughter Lisa-Maria was urgently taken to the hospital. She is now receiving the best possible care,” Presley wrote. “Please keep her and our family in your prayers. We feel prayers from all over the world and ask for privacy during this time.”
Los Angeles County paramedics were sent to the Calabasas home at 10:37 a.m. after reporting a woman in complete cardiac arrest, according to Craig Little, a county fire department spokesman.
TMZ was the first to break the news.
The singer-songwriter attended the 80th annual Golden Globes on Tuesday night with her mother Priscilla and Austin Butler, who played her father in the 2022 biopic Elvis. Butler won the award for Best Actor in a Drama and thanked the Presley family during his performance.
“Thank you for opening your hearts, your memories, your home to me,” Butler told the mother-daughter duo. “Lisa Marie, Priscilla, I love you forever.”

Just a few days earlier, she had been in Memphis, Tennessee, to Graceland – the mansion where Elvis lived – to celebrate her father’s birthday on January 8th.
Lisa Marie was born on February 1, 1968 in Memphis, Tennessee, and is the only daughter of American icon Elvis Presley and Priscilla Presley. She is also the sole heir to her father’s Graceland estate.
As the only child of the rock icon, she ran Elvis Presley Enterprises. She later sold most of the estate’s shares in 2005 but retained control of Graceland, according to Variety.
The 54-year-old singer has released three albums during her musical career, including her debut album To Whom It May Concern. Presley has three children, including actress and model Riley Keough.
Presley recently wrote an essay published in People about the “terrifying reality” of her grief following the suicide of her son Benjamin Keogh in 2020.
“I have dealt with death, grief and loss since I was 9 years old. I had more than anyone in my life and somehow got this far,” she wrote in August.
