MIDDLOTIAN, TexasCBSDFW.COM) — Midlothian police were forced to close off part of the freeway today Sunday afternoon after two longhorns broke free.
It all started just after 2:00 pm when the rear doors of the cattle trailer suddenly opened and two long-horned bulls stepped out.
Midlothian police closed off the northern lanes of Highway 67 at 9th Street and with the help of Ellis County Animal Services. A Good Samaritan from Cowboy Church in Ellis County pushed one of the animals back into the trailer.
The crews are working to contain the other animal.
Not a single bull was harmed and there were no accidents as a result.
