Longhorns block part of Midlothian Freeway

MIDDLOTIAN, TexasCBSDFW.COM) Midlothian police were forced to close off part of the freeway today Sunday afternoon after two longhorns broke free.

It all started just after 2:00 pm when the rear doors of the cattle trailer suddenly opened and two long-horned bulls stepped out.

Midlothian police closed off the northern lanes of Highway 67 at 9th Street and with the help of Ellis County Animal Services. A Good Samaritan from Cowboy Church in Ellis County pushed one of the animals back into the trailer.

The crews are working to contain the other animal.

Not a single bull was harmed and there were no accidents as a result.
