The Marble Falls School District has assigned Jeff Gasaway, Associate Principal, to lead the district while searching for a new head.
Superintendent Chris Allen announced earlier this month that he plans to leave to lead the Midway School District, near Waco, launching Marble Falls in search of a new superintendent.
The Marble Falls School Board named Gasaway interim superintendent at their Tuesday night meeting.
The board also hired Walsh Gallegos Treviño Kyle & Robinson PC to look for a new permanent superintendent.

“I have complete confidence in our board of trustees and appreciate their belief that I will help the district move forward during this time of change,” Gasaway said in a statement.
Gasaway has been with the county since 2016 in various administrative positions. Prior to coming to Marble Falls, he worked in the Midway area, according to Marble Falls County.
Allen worked in the Marble Falls area for eight years. Allen’s last day at Marble Falls has not been confirmed because counties must wait 21 days between the announcement of a finalist and the official job offer, according to state law. Those 21 days have not yet passed for the Midway area.
The county had no immediate information about Gasaway’s or Allen’s salary.

Marble Falls is one of several school districts in Austin looking for new leaders.
Austin County last month named Matthias Segura as its interim superintendent after Interim Superintendent Anthony Mays announced he was leaving to lead Alief County near Houston. Last week, Manor County named Tami Williams-Hill as its interim leader while it seeks candidates to replace Superintendent Andre Spencer.
