SHERBURNE. There will be a Men’s Breakfast at the Sherburne Regional Worship Center Saturday, January 28 from 9:00 am to 10:30 am. Local men can join them.

The Mayo Mobile Clinic will be parked outside Sherburne City Hall from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm on Monday, January 30, and from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm on Wednesday, February 1. To make an appointment, call (507) 238-8500 and list Sherburne Mobile Clinic.

Condolences to the family of the deceased Helen Menssen. She will be missed.

Today at 12:15 pm, schools in Western Martin County will be disbanding for a teacher’s seminar.

Men’s Basketball Night is held every Wednesday at 7:00 pm at the Sherburne High School Gym. The cost is only $1. Remember your sneakers, men.

There will also be a gym open from 13:00 to 15:00 on Sundays at Sherburne High School. Use MCW services and please don’t forget your sports shoes.

This weekend, January 27-29, The Whale will be shown at the Sherburne Theatre. The show time is 19:00 on Friday and Saturday and 16:00 on Sundays.

MCW students have a lot of things to do this week. On Thursday, January 26, the women’s basketball team will play a game at 7:00 pm in Trimont. On Friday, January 27, the boys’ basketball team will travel to Cleveland for a 7:00 pm game, while the boys’ hockey team will travel to Redwood Valley for a 7:30 pm game. On Saturday, January 28, the wrestling team will gather in Mankato East for a meeting at 10:00. The girls’ hockey team will play at 2:15 pm at Albert Lee and the boys’ hockey team will play at 3:00 pm at the Martin County Arena in Fairmont. On Monday, January 30, the boys’ basketball team will play in Sherburne at 7:00 pm, with the CER cheerleading team performing at halftime. On Tuesday, January 31, the Knowledge Bowl team gathers. The girls’ basketball team will head to Alden for a 6:00 pm game, the gymnastics team will play a 6:00 pm Live Fit game in Fairmont, and the boys’ basketball team will play a 7:00 pm game in Luverne. Good luck to the Mavericks teams.

Can’t believe it’s almost February already. I have always felt that spring is near when February comes, or at least then we can be close to the hump of winter. But I’m not a fan of winter, so I start thinking about spring in November.
