HOUSTON. Water has been pouring out of a hole in a Houston yard for weeks now, and neighbors, including former Kem Mayor and Houston mayoral candidate Bill King, want answers.
King said he first noticed the leak at Christmas when temperatures in Houston were below freezing. He said he sent the request to 311 and the city’s response says it will take 10 days to complete the request.
“This is a waste of hundreds of thousands of gallons of water for the city. I mean it’s not free. And, yes, it’s impossible to say what they did to the street here,” King said.
City officials said the area along Stable Crest Boulevard, near the Western Loop, was also a problem during the drought. Contractors with the city were supposed to be there on Friday.
