North Texas lands at Arkansas State Transmission Center Ethan Miner

North Texas has lost the anchor of its offensive line since last season.

The sneaky green may have found a replacement in former Arkansas state center Ethan Miner.

Miner entered the transfer portal after the 2022 season and on Tuesday announced his decision to continue at Mean Green.

“See you at UNT in May!” Miner wrote about this on his Twitter account.

Miner, who is 6’3″ and weighs 295 pounds, will remain with Mean Green for two seasons.

UNT started its first season under new coach Eric Morris with a significant roster hole in the center after Manase Mose retired after the 2022 season. In 2022, Moze was selected to the All-Conference USA First Team when he became UNT’s all-time leader in games starting at 62.

Miner has started 24 games over his last three seasons at ASU, including 12 starts at center last season.

The miner became a hot commodity once it hit the transfer market and received offers from New Mexico, Old Dominion and Bowling Green in addition to UNT.

Under Morris, Mean Green have been active in the transfer market and have strengthened their attacking line by adding many transfers. Earlier UNT featured Larry Moore (Texas Institute of Technology) and Paula Vaipulu (Georgia Tech).

Miner will miss UNT spring training if he signs up in May, but he will have summer to pick up speed before Mean Green opens the season.
