Authorities are investigating the crash of a small plane on Grand Parkway and Cypress Rosehill Road in North Harris County.

Photographs taken by eyewitnesses show the aircraft nose down and surrounded by smoke.

Emergency responders were called to the scene shortly after 11:30 a.m., according to ABC13. Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez told ABC13 they believe there was only one person on board the plane, but the Department of Public Safety has yet to report any injuries.

Houston TranStar warned passengers that officials have closed the boulevard to eastbound traffic on Telge Road and drivers should seek alternative routes.

Crews are working to clear the road from the accident.
