AUSTIN (KXAN) — Elderly dogs at an animal shelter in Austin recently received a gift that the shelter hopes will help them find their “crazy” homes.
JCPenny partners with Austin Pets Alive! make portraits of some older shelter dogs. APA! is one of several shelters across the country that JCPenny has partnered with to help older dogs find homes.
The partnership began on January 24, Change Your Pet Day, and will run until February 28.
the oldest The smartest dogs at each shelter will be featured online during this time period, and clients can click on their local shelter’s link to view adoptable older puppies.
Senior dogs featured on APA! they are Olli, Fotis and Belen.
Ollie loves people, but APA! said he was ignored because he “doesn’t do well in the shelter, but outside of the kennel he becomes a happy dog, ready to receive and give love!”
Fotis is a gentle 100lb German Shepherd that has been recognized by the APA! The first mayor of Postin at the 2022 No Killing Anniversary Party.
Belen 7.5 years old and APA! says he loves children. She has a slight heart murmur that can be dealt with by keeping her stress levels low.

JCPenny also donates $1,000 to each shelter and provides shelters with a $500 JCPenney gift card for supplies such as towels, blankets, cleaning equipment, bowls, and pet bedding.
