HOUSTON (KIAH) — One man is recovering Thursday morning after he was shot and killed during a robbery from an ambush in east Houston.
It happened just after midnight on the 210th block of Armstrong Street near Clinton Park Street and Fidelity Street.
Police said the victim was at a nearby Planet Fitness gym when a group of women asked him to drive him home.
When he tried to drop the women off, one woman jumped out of the car as two armed men approached them.
According to police, one of the suspects shot the victim, wounding him in the stomach. But he was able to get away and find help.
The investigation is ongoing.
