Police: Texas man stabbed into Weslaco hospital; suspect detained

VESLACO, TX (ValleyCentral) — A suspect was apprehended after a stabbed man crashed into Knapp Medical Center in Weslaco.

At 9:18 p.m. Wednesday, police received a call about a one-vehicle collision with a hospital emergency room, the Weslaco Police Department said in a press release.

The Weslaco Criminal Police Department was called to the scene and an investigation began.

Upon arrival, officers learned that the driver, identified as a 23-year-old man, had rushed to the emergency room in a blue Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck with an apparent stab wound, police said.

According to the report, the medical staff took measures to save the man’s life.

“Thanks to the diligent work of the police, the Weslaco Police Department was able to identify the suspect, who is currently in custody,” the report said.
