Prosper ISD board president accused of indecent behavior with a child

The president of the board of trustees of the school district of North Texas was accused of indecent behavior with a child.

Drew Wilborn, 43, was arrested Wednesday afternoon by Dallas police, Prosper confirmed to ISD. “To our knowledge, there is not a single Prosper ISD student in this situation,” the district said in a statement.

Wilborn was held at the Dallas County Jail on Wednesday night on one count of indecency with a child through sexual contact. His bail was not set and it was unclear if he had a lawyer.

Dallas police said it launched an investigation after learning in April that Wilborn had reportedly inappropriately touched a 16-year-old girl.

The school district website states that Wilborn moved to Prosper in 2017 and was elected to the board in 2021. His term of office expires in 2024.

The county biography states that Wilborn is the executive pastor of the Antioch Brotherhood Missionary Baptist Church in Dallas; on the church’s website, Wilborn was not listed on the staff page on Wednesday evening.

In August, Prosper ISD parents expressed their disappointment to trustees over how the county responded to a family’s allegation that their daughters had been raped by a bus driver more than 100 times. The trustees hired a law firm to investigate the county’s response.

Wilborn said at a board meeting that the school’s administration reacted quickly after learning of the complaint against the bus driver. “We understand and share the community’s outrage at the accusations,” he added.
