Purple Heart Ball is back after a two-year hiatus

FORT HUD, TX (KWTX) — After a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, The Purple Heart returns this year to Fort Hood on February 11. John Footman and Tracey Brown-Green of the Military Order of the Purple Heart in Central Texas joined [email protected] to discuss the return of events and the meaning of the organization.

Footman recently made headlines after officially receiving the Purple Heart and Bronze Star for valor 37 years after they were earned in the Vietnam War. He says he has always enjoyed paying tribute to other veterans, and events like the Purple Heart Ball help honor their victims.
