SHREVEPORT, Louisiana. Another Pacific storm is forecast to bring rain to ArkLaTex next weekend. As of Wednesday afternoon, this system was approaching California from the west.

By the time it reaches our part of the country this weekend, the storm may have weakened considerably. Thus, the amount of rain can be much less than during the previous two storms. Current model thinking shows that about two-thirds of an inch of rain fell from Saturday afternoon to Sunday morning.
Here is the forecast chart:

By Saturday afternoon, a cold front is approaching ArkLaTex with light showers.

Later that day, the front moves slowly into the area with showers and light thunderstorms.

Rain continues on Saturday evening. Bad weather and flooding is not expected.

Precipitation ends on Sunday morning.

Slow clearing is expected in the afternoon.
